Modern resume template

Questions about the Modern template

What goes in the Modern template's sidebar?

Contact details, skills, education and languages sit in the tinted left column; summary, experience and projects fill the main column. The sidebar colour follows your accent, so it can be as calm or as bold as you like.

Can the sidebar run longer than the main column?

It can, and the layout handles it: when the sidebar ends the main column takes the full page width, and a long sidebar continues cleanly onto the next page in both the preview and the PDF.

Is the Modern resume template ATS-friendly?

All text stays real and selectable, so ATS software can read it. For a very strict job portal, a single-column template is the safest pick. Modern exports as a text-based PDF with standard section headings, never as an image, so every word can be read and searched.

Is the Modern template free to download?

Yes. Sign in with Google, pick Modern in the editor, fill in your details and download the PDF. There is no watermark, no paid tier and no limit on downloads.
