B.Sc fresher resume format
A B.Sc graduate applies for the same IT, lab and analyst jobs as B.Tech candidates, through the same Naukri listings and mass-recruitment drives, where the first filter is the percentage at Class X, XII and graduation. The resume should make those marks easy to find, then prove the degree with projects someone actually used. The sample below is a 2025 B.Sc Computer Science graduate; the shape works for life-science graduates too.

LibTrack — department library system
Final-year project. Django and MySQL web app that replaced the computer science department's issue register: barcode-based issue and return, due-date reminders by email and a monthly overdue report. Tracks 1,400 books for about 220 students; the librarian has used it since February 2025. Team of two; I built the data model, the issue workflow and the reports.
Expense splitter for hostel rooms
Python and Flask app with a simple JavaScript front end that splits shared expenses and settles balances with the fewest payments. Used by 30 students in my hostel block; written up as a 1,200-word blog post on how the settlement algorithm works.

Common mistakes on B.Sc fresher resumes
- Apologising for the degree
- A summary that explains why you did a B.Sc rather than a B.Tech wastes its best lines. Say what you can do and what you have built; a recruiter who sees a Django app with 220 users does not go back to the degree name.
- Projects that are the lab syllabus
- "Student record system in C" and "Calculator in Java" are on every B.Sc resume from the same university. Pick a project with a user — a department, a hostel, a shop — and say what it does for them and what you built in it.
- Leaving out Class X and XII marks
- Most mass recruiters in India screen on 60% throughout, and their forms ask for all three. Keep Class X, Class XII and the degree in the education section with the board and the percentage, as the sample does.
- Skills copied from a job post
- Listing Spring Boot, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes because the posting named them invites interview questions you cannot answer. Keep the languages and tools you have written code with; three honest groups beat a wall of names.
- No GitHub link
- For a graduate with no job, the code is the evidence. Put a GitHub link in the header, pin the two projects on the resume, and make sure each has a README that says what it does and how to run it.

- What is the best resume format for a B.Sc fresher?
- One page, single column: name and contact details with a GitHub or LinkedIn link, a short summary, education with marks for Class X, XII and the degree, skills, projects, internships, certifications and a declaration. Projects come before the internship if they are the stronger evidence, as they are for most B.Sc graduates.
- Can a B.Sc fresher resume compete with B.Tech candidates for IT jobs?
- For service companies, support, QA and junior developer roles, yes: most of their campus and off-campus drives accept B.Sc Computer Science and IT graduates with the same percentage criteria. What closes the gap on paper is a project with real users and a GitHub link that shows readable code, not a longer skills list.
- Should a B.Sc fresher resume list Class X and XII marks?
- Yes. Mass recruiters in India still apply a 60% throughout rule, and company portals ask for every stage. Put each with the board and the percentage in one line of the education section. Once you have two years of experience you can drop the school entries.
- How should a B.Sc fresher in life sciences adapt this resume format?
- Keep the order and swap the content: the dissertation or final-year project becomes the first project, lab techniques (PCR, chromatography, cell culture, microscopy) replace programming languages in skills, and a summer training at a lab, hospital or pharma unit goes under experience. The declaration stays; many lab and pharma employers expect it.
