Frontend developer resume format

Frontend postings on Naukri and LinkedIn are filtered on React, TypeScript and a handful of tools, so the skills section has to match the posting's words. A product company then reads the bullets for what the interface did for users: a flow that converts better, a page that loads faster, an audit that passed. The sample below is a 3.5-year developer who moved from a services company to a healthtech product, in a two-column template.

Free. The sample opens in the editor as your own resume, with the name and contact details left blank for you to fill in. Sign in with Google if you have not already.

Sample frontend developer resume, as text

Frontend Developer · React, TypeScript

Summary

Frontend developer with 3.5 years building React and TypeScript applications, the last year and a half on a patient-facing healthtech product. Comfortable owning a feature from design handoff to release, with a habit of measuring load time, drop-off and accessibility before and after a change. Looking for a frontend role on a product team.

  • Set up Storybook and visual regression tests for the shared component library: 42 components used by three squads.

Software Engineer (Frontend) · Kaveri Software Labs

Bengaluru · Jul 2023 – May 2025

  • Built dashboards and forms for two client products (an insurance portal and an HR tool) in React with Redux; 60+ screens delivered on schedule.
  • Raised unit-test coverage of the insurance portal front end from 20% to 70% with Jest and React Testing Library.
  • Closed 90 of 94 issues flagged in a WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility audit, mostly keyboard navigation and form labelling.

Common mistakes on frontend developer resumes

Bullets that list the stack instead of the result
"Worked on React, Redux, TypeScript and Material UI for the dashboard" repeats the skills section. "Rebuilt the booking flow in React; drop-off fell from 38% to 24%" shows what the stack was for. Mention the tools in passing and end with what changed.
No performance or accessibility numbers
Frontend work is unusually measurable: Lighthouse scores, largest contentful paint, bundle size, WCAG issues closed. Take the number before and after a change and put both in the bullet; "improved performance" with no figure reads as a guess.
Projects that are tutorial clones
A to-do app or a Netflix clone tells a reviewer you followed a course. Keep one project that real people used — an extension, a small tool for a college society, an open-source contribution — and give its users or stars.
A links section that is only LinkedIn
A frontend developer's work can be seen. Put a GitHub profile with a pinned repository or a deployed project URL in the header; a reviewer who can click through to a working page spends longer on your resume.

Questions about the frontend developer resume format

How many projects should a frontend developer resume list?
One or two, and only ones that were used by someone other than you. With three years of experience the roles carry the resume; a project earns its place by showing something the jobs did not, such as open-source work or a side project with users.
Should a frontend developer resume mention Angular or Vue if the job asks for React?
Yes, in the skills section, if you have actually built with them — a second framework shows the first was learned, not just used. But do not pad the list: a keyword match is not evidence, and the AI keyword check on this site only reports what the posting mentions that the resume does not, never that you lack the skill.
How should a frontend developer with a services background apply to product companies?
Describe client work as product work: who used the screens, how many, and what you measured. "Delivered 60 screens for an insurance client" is a start; "the claims form went from 11% abandonment to 6%" is what a product team wants to read. Avoid client names if your contract forbids them — the industry is enough.
Does a frontend developer resume need a portfolio site?
It helps but it is not required. A GitHub profile with two or three readable repositories does the same job for most reviewers. If you do build one, keep it fast and accessible — it is the first piece of frontend work they will judge.
